Upper East side
apartment
Manhattan
A 1980’s Manhattan condo, a trompe l’oeil of luxury, with an unusable kitchen, ill-defined rooms, and a dusting of generic materials got a serious makeover – transformed from shapeless sheetrock into an articulated, tailored interior. Each room was rebuilt in a palette of off-white with panels, secret cabinets, and shelves that add form, weight and depth to surfaces and create a hard working yet harmonious apartment. Behind the neutral skin, discrete interior elements are trimmed and lined with glossy bright colors, exotic woods, and figural stones suggesting a more sensual and exuberant private world beyond.
