Townhouse

Brooklyn

A Brooklyn couple with children and careers had no use for the affected charms of an historical brownstone.  A tabula rasa renovation of a Park Slope townhouse (with little remaining original detail of dignity left) cleared the slate for an informal, no nonsense, aesthetically trim house.  Volumes of storage hidden behind full height wall panels keeps the family chaos under control.  An open plan with a minimum number of dividing walls and doors keeps the space fluid and ready for action.  A large kitchen at the heart of the space acts as the control center of the house.  And a sliding glass exterior wall and larger windows brighten the entire house while extending the living space into the garden.
